Hey there! In this case there is unfortunately no non-manual way. When creating an org chart from scratch, you can select the specific shape and hold Cmd (or Ctrl) + Del to get rid of the target shape including all connectors that point towards him or evolve from him. You'll then have to manually connect the shapes again and move them accordingly. When using our org chart custom shape, this solution isn't possible, because there is a hierarchy attached to the shapes. Deleting the target shape also deletes all child shapes that follow up. What you have to do is detach the connector end point(s) between the target shape and the child entities, delete it and then reconnect the child shapes. I hope this workaround might help you! Yes, theoretically, you could also build kind of a shape using connection points and their corresponding connectors, and then animate it. So if you just need something that works, double-click on the drawing area, select the connection point four times, arrange them in a rectangle, and connect them. Then you can animate it.

Hello there! If you have a sizable shape in the background that you'd prefer not to budge, you can easily secure it in place. Simply select the shape and click on "Edit," then choose "Lock/Unlock." Once the larger shape is locked, you'll have the freedom to select multiple shapes without unintentionally moving the background one. Now, if you opt for the frame method, ensure to initiate the drag from an open area outside the background shape. Apart from this, all the other methods for selecting multiple elements, as explained in the video, should work seamlessly without any alterations to the background shape. Hope this helps!🧡

Same it doesn't wok for me also in Windows ...Apparently , (1) holding the control key at the end point , just shows an outline but does nothing & (2) holding the control key on the connector & dragging ,creates a copy(clone) , but it does not extend the earlier connector to a new connection (it just creates a independent copy of the original connector ) It does not extend connection as shown in the video above .

Hey there! With the desktop app, you can make your own libraries by following the same steps in the video. You still have the option to export your library as an xml file and share it with others. The main difference is that, unlike Confluence, where you can upload and subscribe to custom libraries within the draw.io editor, the desktop app requires xml files to be shared manually for custom libraries.
